There is another Korean Language Test scheduled for Filipinos who are interested to work in Korea, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
POEA 6 Officer-in-Charge Rhea Glynda Calantas said the registration for the Employment Permit System-Korean Language Test now called Employment Permit System-Test of Proficiency in Korea (EPS-TOPIK) will be on September 20 to 23 in venues which will be announced or posted at their website and that of the Department of Labor and Employment.
The Human Resource Development Service of Korea in cooperation with the POEA will conduct the EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) on November 14, 2010.
Calantas said the EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) is a pre-requisite to be qualified or included under the Employment Permit System of Korea.
Qualified to register for the EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) are those registered with the POEA E-registration System and included in the POEA Manpower Registry while those who are not yet registered are advised to register online via www.poea.gov.ph.
On the other hand, those who are presently registered and have not yet taken or passed the EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) and interested to pursue employment in Korea must have an active registration status in order to be included in the manpower pool for Korea. Only those with active registration status as of September 19, 2010 are qualified to register for the EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) on November 14.
Requirements for registration include: applicants must be between 18 years of age and not more than 38 years old on November 14, 2010; must be physically and mentally fit; must not have any record of conviction or imprisonment for a heinous crime; must have no record of deportation or departure orders from the Republic of Korea; must not be restricted from departure from the Philippines; and must be e-Registered with active status in the POEA Manpower Registry.
For the Visayas region, the pre-qualification and pre-screening for applicants who are already actively-registered with the POEA Manpower Registry will be conducted at the POEA Regional Center for Visayas located at the Mezzanine Floor, LDM Building, M.J. Cuenco Avenue, corner Legaspi Street, Cebu City.
Applicants notified to appear for pre-qualification are advised to bring with them the original and photocopy of the following documents for verification: Resume with one 2X2 colored picture; valid passport or any valid identification card with picture; and valid NBI clearance (for travel abroad).
