A Filipino security officer now faces trial after he was prosecuted Sunday for alleged burglary in an apartment at International City in the United Arab Emirates.
Online news site Khaleej Times reported the 33-year-old officer was accused of stealing a wallet containing $2,500 last March 31 while on duty for the hotel apartments.
His accuser, a Turkish woman accountant, claimed she left her apartment at 7:50 a.m. that day and went back at 8:15 p.m. to discover that a wallet with $2,500 was stolen.
A police officer told the interrogators the Filipino, whose identity was withheld in the report, admitted to stealing the money by getting hold of the apartment key.
Police found a bunch of keys in his possession and Dh75,000 (P958,100.75) that he stole from another apartment.
