The Philippine embassy in Saudi Arabia has halved the number of holidays it will observe in 2012, from 22 to 11.

In an announcement on its website, the embassy released a revised list of nonworking holidays it will observe during the year.

“The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announces its revised holidays for 2012, reducing holidays it observes from 22 to only 11 non-working holidays to extend more services to Filipinos in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the embassy said.

According to the embassy, the 11 holidays are:

Jan. 1: New Year’s Day (Sunday)
May 1: Labor Day (Tuesday)
June 12: Independence Day (Tuesday)
August 16, 19, 20, 23: Eid El-Fitr Holidays
Sept. 23: National Day of Saudi Arabia (Sunday)
Oct. 27, 28: Eid-El-Adha Holidays
Dec. 25: Christmas Day (Tuesday)
