The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of this city recently opened overseas job orders for skilled workers for the Middle East through the PISCES International Agency at the MassKara Hall of the New Government Center (NGC) here.
ALYAMAMA, a Saudi-based recruitment agency technically interlinked with the PISCES recruitment agency of Bacolod, is recruiting 400 skilled workers for jobs in the Middle East particularly at Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Hundreds of applicants from all over Bacolod, mostly men, flocked to the NGC for the one-day recruitment and interview with PISCES representatives.
Graduates and undergraduates, licensed and unlicensed applicants applied according to the categories they fit in.
Job categories offered were administrative clerk, financial analyst, driver, electrician, mechanic, mason, sewage operator, welder, painter, electrical/chemical engineer, helper, plumber, janitor, receptionist, among others.
PESO Head Moises de la Cruz said that experience is not necessarily important.
“What is more important is for the applicant to pass the recruitment interview and that they should have the criteria and knowledge of the job,” Dela Cruz said.
De la Cruz added that applicants must accomplish the requirements including the medical certificate, passport and visa procurement, and placement fees to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and must submit their Philhealth number.
An applicant would be spending more or less P10,000 for processing of these requirements and would be deployed in different companies and business firms in Dammam once accepted.
The compensation will depend on the contract validity and mutual agreement between the employer and employee but hired applicants will already be informed regarding compensation upon contract signing, Dela Cruz clarified.
