Another batch of Filipinos repatriated from Sabah, Malaysia arrived in Zamboanga City on Saturday.
A source from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said there were 159 deportees who boarded a commercial vessel from Sandakan, Malaysia to go to Zamboanga City.
Out of the 159, 114 were male while the rest were female. Among the deportees were children as young as one year old.
There were no reports of deportees who fell ill, and they were immediately brought to the Center for Displaced Persons.
The center is a home provided by the DSWD as a temporary shelter for the deportees before they are sent back to their native towns in Tawi-tawi and Sulu.
Some deportees are assisted by the center in the processing of their travel documents so they can go back to Malaysia to work.
