Filipino film “Amok” won a special prize at the 14th International Detective Film Festival in Moscow, Russia held from April 25 to 29.

 

Hoping to boost the country’s international image to travelers, the Department of Tourism brought a taste of the Philippines to the biggest autumn trade fair in the Russian Federation.

 

A Filipino seafarer convicted and jailed in Moscow was released last week and returned to Manila Friday, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced Saturday.

 

Russia recognized the Philippines as one of its “vital and promising” partner in the Asia-Pacific region, as the Philippines marked its 113th Independence Day last weekend.

 

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Russian Embassy opened a photo exhibit to mark the 35th anniversary of both countries’ diplomatic ties.

 

The Philippine Embassy in Moscow reported that the films by avant-garde Filipino directors Adolfo Alix Jr. and Raya Martin won praise from Russian audiences and critics at the 31st Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).
