The government has warned Filipinos against seeking employment in Poland as mushroom pickers due to alleged inhumane working conditions there.

The Task Force Against Illegal Recruitment (Tfair) said Wednesday that it has filed a complaint with the Department of Justice (DOJ) against a recruiter that deployed to Poland 96 Filipinos, who are now in distress.

Citing the ordeal of 96 Filipino workers who were duped by their recruiter, Vice President Noli De Castro on Saturday warned aspiring overseas Filipino workers (OFW) to be wary of an agency recruiting workers to Poland.

Forty of the 96 reported distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in Poland are set to return to the Philippines on Thursday morning, Senator Manuel Villar said Wednesday.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will try to negotiate with the employers of the 96 overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in Poland who were earlier reported to have encountered some labor problems.

Ninety-six distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in Poland are reportedly pleading for help because of unjust working conditions.
