Call for nominations for POEA governing Land-based sector representative

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is now accepting nominations for one Land-based Sector Representative for its Governing Board.

Pursuant to RA 10022, the Land-based Sector representative must be a migrant worker at the time of his/her nomination or was a migrant worker with at least three (3) years experience as such, at least 25 years of age at the time of nomination and, be able to read and write. He/she must be nominated by a non-government organization (NGO) that protects and promotes the welfare of the Overseas Filipino Workers, duly registered with appropriate Philippine government, of good standing as certified by the government agency where it is registered, must be in existence for at least three (3) years prior to the nomination, and represents the land-based sector.

The following requirements should be submitted in three (3) copies to the Chairman of the Screening and Selection Committee, Office of the Administrator, POEA, corner EDSA and Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City on or before April 15, 2015.

1. Letter of nomination by the nominating NGO and the acceptance of nomination by the nominee

2. Duly Accomplished Personal Profile and Form of the Nominee {copy of the form can be downloaded from the POEA website or can be obtained from the POEA Governing Board Secretary, Office of the Administrator)

3. Birth Certificate of the Nominee from the National Statistics Office

4. Overseas Employment Records duly certified by the POEA, OWWA membership records by OWWA, or similar records of overseas employment certified by the issuing agent

5. Clearances which should be valid for at least six (6) months

a. National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)
b. POEA Anti-Illegal Recruitment Branch
c. Civil Service Commission (CSC)
d. Office of the Ombudsman
e. Sandiganbayan

6. NGO registration of the nominating organization providing information that the purpose for which it was established is to protect and promote the rights and welfare of the NGO.

7. Certification of Good Standing of the nominating NGO from the government agency where it is registered

8. Resolution by the nominating NGO Board of Trustees/Directors that the nomination was conducted openly by the general membership of the seat or represented

Nominations beyond the said deadline shall not be accepted.
